What is hard reset?
Before we discuss hard reset, we have to understand what is Reset. Reset in android is a process by which you choose an option or use combination buttons to wipe the android phone.
This wipe will remove all the settings the user applied, all the applications the user installed and more especially delete/format the storage contents.
We have two types of Reset Soft Reset and Hard Reset.
Soft Reset is when you format an android phone by going through Menu>>Settings>>Backup & Restore>>Format phone.
When you perform soft reset, is likely if you automatic backup button is on, that you will recover all your files and data after erase.
This type of reset only returns screen to the default user settings. There may be no lost of applications.
Hard Reset is just like soft reset but the difference is that it is being performed with combination buttons. The use of combination buttons to format phone started with Nokia Symbian phones.
Here, when you perform Hard Reset you are not only going to loose all the applications but the phone internal memory will be wiped out. In some cases the phone can brick if there os some virus or bug.
Difference phones have different ways you can perform hard reset, it has bricked many phones.
There are two ways you can perform hard rest apart from phones that erase directly.
a) Wipe User Data
b) Wipe Cache
When you select wipe user data, chances is there that you can recover some things inside the phone after format.
If you choose wipe cache the phone will not npt only wipe but nuked to default. in most cases, if is android 5.1 version or below hard reset will remove everything including the FRP.

Why do we perform Hard Reset?
Android Smart phones are unpredictable. It can develop any problem anytime any day. Android phones and tablets can hang, not responding, keeps restarting. The first method you should use before flashing any android phone unless total dead is hard reset. We perform hard reset if an android phone is hanging, boots to logo only, display memory full or not responding. If you forget your android password then hard reset can fix it.
Hard Reset can also be applied if you want to bypass FRP on some android phones.
To perform Hard Reset Tecno i3 and i3 Pro
Step 1. Charge your android battery till around 80%.
Step 2. Press Volume Up + Power briefly to be released immediately you see command with triangle image.
Step 3. Again press power button followed by Volume Up. Release both button when you see fastboot mode. This is a dark background screen with blue or white letters.
Step 4. Instead of choosing wipe data, scroll down to more and select with power button. The next screen select wipe data and then yes.
Step 5. Wait for the phone to finish erasing and give it sometimes to boot.
Step 6. After the first boot provide your details and setup the phone.
Android 8.0 and android 8.1.0 versions are not easy to deal with unlike 7.0 and below because of security patch. To perform hard reset on 8.0 and 8.1.0 you must use a trick.
This trick is when you see fastboot mode instead of selecting wipe data which will return you to reboot without reset.
It will show you reset but actually it didn’t format or erase the phone. In this case, what you will do is scroll down and choose more.
This more option will take you to another screen that contains wipe data, once you see this select yes with power button and confirm. This will eventually erase the android phone.
